Where to get dioramas?Where to get dioramas?Polls

Hello MFC,

I'm looking for dioramas for my figures. I'm not that great at making them myself, so I'd rather buy them. Can you recommend some online stores that sell dioramas? If you know someone who builds and sells custom dioramas/accepts commissions, please let me know as well.

I don't know the setting I want for my figures yet, any type of diorama is appreciated. Thanks.

AcePlatinum2 years ago#88833984Chibi chop shop sometimes has them for nendoroid and nendo dolls. ^^Thanks, will check them out.

D_A_R2 years ago#88835020I think your best option is probably etsy. There are lots of talented people on there. I'm sure you will find someone that can make your ideas come true.Sounds good for custom made dioramas. Thanks.

plasticizer2 years ago#88835104I know Hasegawa made some diorama pieces for 1/12 scales. Might have some in stock over on Mandarake.
Otherwise, might be fruitful to check with people that make miniatures and tabletop scenery.
Right, tabletop scenery, forgot about that. Good thing I know a few tabletop gamers & shops for that. Thanks

lesser-robot-cat2 years ago#88836174The scale of your figures can make an easier project for you. I'll break down my tips by size.
If it's a scale around 1:6, you can buy barbie furniture and houses. Older and no-brand pieces are less likely to come in That Shade of Pink, or you can paint them to make a more realistic look for your figures. Some Re-ment sets (usually food, backpacks, etc) will be perfectly sized for your figures, but furniture pieces won't be. If your scale is attached to a base, take that extra height into consideration.
If it's a 1:12-ish figure like Figma, things get wobbly. It's too short for Barbie, too tall for Sylvanian Families, but from either size you can mix and match pieces that work. Neither Barbie nor Sylvanian Families houses are quite right for a Figma. Most Re-Ment furniture is okay for Figmas, though some items will be a little too big (usually food). Some collectable model cars are this size, but you might not be able to fit your figure inside, even if it's poseable. Still, they make a neat prop to lean or sit on. (Ramen topper figures have a lot of potential there!)
If it's a 1:14 figure like Nendoroid, Sylvanian Families has you covered. They make cottages, mansions, camper trailers, theater stages, cars, even little facade-only houses themed for Halloween and Christmas. Sylvanian Families furniture is 100% perfect for Nendoroids. Most Re-Ment furniture is, too, but the food items tend to be too big. (I recommend buying one Sylvanian Families animal to keep around as a reference to compare to product photos.)
You can find some of those things at any big box store, and all of them on Ebay. Some Re-Ment sets are documented here at MFC, so you can browse people's photos and see how the various pieces look compared to the figure size you want to display. YouTube unboxing videos are a good source, too. You can compare the items to the unboxer's hands to get an idea of their size.
Thanks for all the input, very helpful.

I should be able to get the dioramas I want now, thanks to everyone who shared their insight.

I've also been thinking about putting my figures in some sort of diorama so this is super helpful! Thanks for the info!
