For today's review, we'll be covering the Danganronpa Monokuma and Monomi One Coin Figures (Ch1 & 2) from Kotobukiya!

For this review, I'll be doing both Monokuma and Monomi since neither of them have much to say about their figures. Anyway, I know a lot of people love Monomi, and I do as well! But for me personally, Monokuma takes the throne. I LOVE Monokuma so much... He's my absolute favorite in the whole series. One time I went to a local art fair and someone was selling Danganronpa merch. She was speechless when I said my favorite was Monokuma, lol.
Note: I'll be skipping the "Hair", "Clothes", "Box" and "Base" sections for this review. Please read my previous review for my thoughts on the Ch. 2 box and base, and keep an eye out for a future review for my thoughts on the Ch. 1 box and base. And obviously Monokuma nor Monomi has any clothes or hair.

THE SETUP
The setup for both figures is the same. Each figure came with the figure itself and the base. The figures feel nicely balanced and snug in their bases, with nothing easily broken or lost. Five stars.

THE FACE
MONOMI
Monomi has her neutral expression, with an open mouth and open eyes. One eye is black, and the other is a pearlescent red. She has two circular blush marks on each cheek, one being a more vibrant pink than the other.
A pretty nicely done face. It's cute, true to design, and well-painted for the most part. the eyes, cheeks, and mouth look great, but the area where the pink meets the white on the face could use some work. I'll forgive it though, so five stars.
MONOKUMA
Monokuma has his usual expression, with a large grin and open eyes. One eye is black and the other is a pearlescent red. One side of his mouth is a small open-mouthed smile, and the other is a large, toothy grin.
Very nicely designed. It's true to style and looks very cute with the One Coin style. The teeth are even slightly sculpted. The painting could be better on the face, as its kinda sloppy in some parts. Four stars.

THE POSE
MONOMI
Monomi is standing with her legs apart, hands touching at her chest. Her head can be slightly rotated. She's wearing a diaper.
A very typical "Monomi" pose. This seems to be a pose she does frequently, especially when crying. It's cute and has an insecure air to it, which makes sense as she's much weaker when in Monomi form rather than Usami form. The sculpt looks really good, with the roundness and soft curves adding that much cuteness to Monomi—The diaper looks soft and cute rather than puffy and gross like it does on a lot of Monomi plushes.
The painting falls a bit short in some places, specifically down the middle where pink meets white. It's kinda sloppy and bothersome, but it's not that bad. Five stars.
MONOKUMA
Monokuma is standing with his legs apart, and arms crossed across his chest. His head can be slightly rotated.
One of my favorite poses from Monokuma. This one is in the Junko Enoshima promotional art, as well as the new Junko Enoshima Pop-Up Parade Figure, for another example.
A very powerful pose from the wonderful Monokuma. the crossed black and white arms create a great visual contrast, and his body is nice and round with soft curves to make that cute look. The sculpt is excellent, no complaints here.
Something I will complain about though is the painting. It's pretty sloppy on the backside, and very noticeable on his white arm as you see in my photo. This is pretty disappointing, since the colors and their divide is a very important part of Monokuma's design. Note though that my figure has some scuffs and dust, visible on the black side. I am referring to the parts where the black does not match up with the sculpted line. Four stars.

CONCLUSION
In general, these are really nice figures. The sculpting is incredible, the colors look great, the only shortfall is the paint job, but even then it's forgivable since these are tiny. They fit in great with my collection and are a great choice for any Danganronpa collector.
