Comments Ikea's Detolf is being Discontinued.

I was looking at a cabinet they sell called the Milsbo that looks really good but it keeps getting sold out, does anyone have one of those?

I have a Milsbo! Got it for my birthday a couple of weeks ago, so I haven't had it that long. But I really like it!

Honestly I've looked into other options then detolfs, since I live in an area were the closet ikea is two states away. So by far the best buy for your buck is either old ladies selling their china cabinets (Usually super cheap compared to brand new wooden display cases, downside you need to pick it up yourself) or option B metal shelves> last a lot longer then particle board shit shelves and usually only $30 more expensive
the only thing that's kept me from buying a detolf besides the distance is the fact it's practically solid glass, and the number of people I see talking about how their cases shattered is a big no for me

Well, there goes collecting for me... I have not found other display units that look as good as that and at the right size. I will never display my figures in an ''open'' case, they need to be behind glass for protection. So the soon to be discontinued Detolf leaving in Jan meaning i guess i have to stop purchasing... ><__>< Every year things just get worse and worse...

I will just keep buying the detolfs from Facebook marketplace. People sell sometimes2-3 detolfs for 150 for all or 60-90 each:)

Blast from the past there! But yeah Ikea tends to re-release it's products just under a new name so it's possible. The detolf is a best seller but I'm pretty sure it's a customer service nightmare as well. My own exploded on delivery and when I called them up they never argued. I just said "detolf, here are the photos" and they refunded it immediately.

Luckily got some which I plan to sell once it gets discontinued. Since then surely people would like one (i sell for what I paid) and get myself a new one. They are nice to start with tho ^^! I prefer fabrikor myself so planned to sell em

Sad for newer collectors tho. But for me doesn't affect me.

Panda_Roll • 4 hours ago • #125720785I personally picked up the newer ikea baggebo when it went on sale for $35. If your collection is small and you're looking for something cheap I'd highly recommend it. Got a roll of stiff plastic for $2 and glued it to the inside of the mesh before assembly.
That was in Feb, so far not a speak of dust.

My collection isn't huge per se but also not tiny I wanted to get atleast one proper display case to show off my fave figures but I'm also planning to get the Billy shelves with the glass doors to show off my other figures. I have 2 cats, so a little protection they give is great. Currently most of my collection is packed away. I need to start thinking what to do with my room. I'm a little lost.
